HISTORY
From 7 cows in an orange orchard,
to one of South Africa's biggest private fresh product dairies,
Orange Grove's success story is one of hard work and team effort.
In 1927 the newly married grandparents of current owner, Dave Durham, started the Dairy. Cecil and Sheila Durham milked seven Jersey cows in an orange orchard in the backyard of their uncle's home in Smith Street, central Dundee. At the time, only nutrious Jersey Milk was sold in one- gallon milk cans and delivered by bicycle.

Five years later Orange Grove Dairy moved to its current location, Glynton Farm, just outside Dundee. Some 83 years later, Orange Grove manufactures and distributes over 200 different products throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal, and parts of Gauteng and Mpumalanga. In a fleet of over 50 refrigerated Mercede trucks, together with franchisees and agents, making it possible to milk the cow today, process, pack and deliver the milk to customers tomorrow morning.

The herd has also grown into one of South Afric'a largest pedigree Jersey herds, and all milk is still produced naturally without the use of artificial hormones.

Glynton Pedigree Jersey Herd
Many of Orange Grove Dairy's products include the high-protein, mineral and energy-rich milk from Peter Durham's Glynton Jersey Herd, which has grown from the original 7 Jersey cows into one of South Africa's largest pedigree Jersey herds. All milk is produced naturally without the use of artificial hormones. All cows are fed a diet of home-grown food balanced with vitamins and minerals to ensure their own good health and to produce milk naturally rich in protein, vitamins and minerals which is sold separately by Orange Grove under the "Jersy Gold" Brand
