SkyDiversity is the Tandem SkyDiving and Student Training operation based at SkyDive Rustenburg / Rustenburg SkyDiving Club, run and managed by the well known and respected South African SkyDiving Legend & DZ Chief Instructor Graham Field.

He and his company AerialFX are perhaps best known for the high profile public parachuting displays which he is licensed by the Parachute Association of South Africa (PASA) to perform at high profile events Nationally and Internationally. Over the years, Graham has represented a large number of top international brands, has represented South Africa Internationally at Competition and Display levels, and been part of numerous World Records, World Firsts, Stunts and Movies that involve Skydiving, Parachuting and Aerial activities. Graham was on CNN recently for performing the world’s first ‘Triple Inverted Aircraft Skydive’ at the prestigious Al Ain Airshow in Abu Dhabi. Not only is SkyDive Rustenburg is most fortunate to have Graham operating SkyDiversity at Rustenburg SkyDiving Club, but we also operate the world’s newest, most exciting, purpose built and dedicated turbine skydiving aircraft.

– The Turbine Atlas Angel, taking up to 9 skydivers to between 10 000ft and 11000ft AGL (subject to Air Traffic Control at the time) in under 15 minutes.

(AFF) Program Levels 1 – 10

The full Accelerated FreeFall (AFF) Course consists of a minimum of 10 SkyDives under the direct supervision of dedicated AFF Instructors. For those who wish to learn to SkyDive Solo, and to jump with other SkyDivers at Drop Zones around the world, the Internationally Recognised Accelerated Freefall is the fast track program designed to turn you into a safe and competent skydiver in the shortest period of time.

You wear your own parachute, jump suit, helmet, altimeter and goggles, experiencing solo freefall (35 – 45 seconds) from jump number one from an altitude of between 10 000 ft and 11 000 ft.

The first 3 AFF Levels are performed under the direct “in freefall supervision” of two highly experienced and certified AFF Instructors who will be at your side not only for safety (they are able to activate your parachute should you fail to do so by the right altitude), but also to coach, assist, and evaluate your performance. From AFF Level 4 you progress to one AFF Instructor and from AFF Level 8 you are a solo SkyDiver. For your first few solo parachute landings you will also receive assistance to guide you to a safe landing on the Drop Zone.

It is recommended to complete at least one Tandem Introductory SkyDive prior to beginning with the Accelerated Freefall Program; however you can enrol on the AFF Program with no prior skydiving experience.

·         As per Accelerated Freefall (AFF), First Jump Course & AFF 1.

·         3 SkyDives with 2 AFF Instructors.

·         4 SkyDives with 1 AFF Instructor.

·         3 Solo SkyDives under the supervision of an AFF Instructor.

·         The full Accelerated FreeFall (AFF) Course is your ticket into the World of SkyDiving.

·         It is possible to complete the full AFF course in one long weekend or two dedicated weekends. Once you start your course you are required to make at least 1 skydive every 30 days as an absolute minimum to maintain an acceptable safety currency

·         There is a Weight Limit of 100kg due to International safety requirements on Student SkyDiving.

·         There is an age restriction of 16 years or age with parental / guardian written consent however we reserve the right to refuse any Student at our discretion due to safety considerations.

·         Please, absolutely no alcohol consumption prior to any skydiving activity

AFF Students should aim to complete the first 3 AFF Levels (at least) in the first weekend of AFF Training and make the time and financial commitment of completing the Full AFF Program (Level 1 – 10) inside of 2 to 8 weeks. This is principally for Safety and Learning-Efficiency reasons.

Over 100kgs Tandem Skydiving

Due to international safety requirements on tandem skydiving equipment, there is a general weight limit of 100 kgs at most South African Dropzones.

On special request, under certain favourable conditions and subject to the approval of the Drop Zone’s Chief Instructor, persons heavier than 100 kgs may be given special consideration with an absolute upper limit of 120 kgs. In addition, the person’s ability to lift their legs for a safe landing will need to be demonstrated by the Tandem student before they can be considered for the skydive – this is required for all our Tandem Students.

The combined weight of the tandem instructor and passenger must not exceed 200 kgs – a weight surcharge will apply for anyone over 100 kgs on the following scale which will be taken at the Dropzone on the day of the skydive:

> 100 to 110kgs – R 200 additional

> 111 to 115kgs – R 400 additional

> 116 to 120kgs – R 800 additional

The Drop Zone Operator, the Chief Instructor, and the Tandem Instructor must all be in agreement that the skydive can be completed safely.

Safety is our first priority & fun comes in a close second and we may need to wait for favourable conditions on the day taking into consideration the safety of both the tandem student and the instructor.

Please also note that it is a requirement that the Handycam Camera Option is also taken on all Tandems over 100kgs for liability purposes – the cost of this is additional to the tandem skydive cost & the weight surcharge cost.

Special Needs Skydivig

Disabled, Paraplegic or Quadriplegic ?

If you are physically disabled, paraplegic or quadriplegic and want to experience skydiving, we will make every effort to see if we can make it a reality for you. At Skydive Rustenburg we specialise in these unique skydives and over the years have helped a number of people with a range of disabilities to experience skydiving.

Your Instructor (to whom you are securely attached) takes care of all the details & no major physical effort is required on your part. In some cases with extreme disabilities the Instructor does all of the skydive for you and there is no need for any assistance from the passenger.

We have specially designed straps for arms and legs and for the landing procedures we lift your legs, sit you up on your Tandem Instructor’s lap, and slide in for landing on the manicured lawn in front of the clubhouse.

Keep in mind that your doctor most probably does not have any modern day skydiving or parachuting experience, will probably advise you not to do anything remotely exciting…  You will however be required to complete a medical questionnaire and to sign a declaration of fitness and indemnity form.

Safety is our first priority & fun comes in a close second so we may need to wait for favourable conditions on the day – additional charges may apply to all Special Needs Tandems depending on the nature of the skydive we are going to make

The Drop Zone Operator, the Chief Instructor, and the Tandem Instructor must all be in agreement that the skydive can be completed safely & will always make a final assessment & call on the day, taking in to consideration the safety of both the tandem student and the instructor.

All Special Needs Tandems need to be pre-booked and the nature of the disability discussed with The Chief Instructor well in advance of the skydive.

Please also note that it is a requirement that the Handcam Camera Option is also taken on all Special Needs Tandems for liability purposes – the cost of this is additional to the tandem skydive cost.
