Performing is Expensive!
Pursuing Performance as a career is a very expensive endeavor. Remember, as a Performer you are your own boss (which is awesome!), but it’s important to learn how to be smart with your money.
There are expenses for acting-, singing- and dance classes, headshots, costumes, makeup, show reels and everything in between! It can be extremely challenging to deal with some of the financial instability that comes with this career. As a Performer, you may not have money to do many things that people can do in other careers, such as having the money to travel, buy new things, or even eat a lot of food at times.
NOTE: I suggest that you look into The Theatre Benevolent Fund a non-profit organization that is in place to help actors who are struggling.
