DAY TRIP
Umkhosi Womhlanga, or Reed Dance ceremony, is an annual Zulu and Swazi tradition held in the first weekend of September. Thousands of unmarried and childless Zulu/Swazi girls and women travel from their villages to participate in this event. The girls wear traditional attire including beadwork and colorful sashes. As part of the ceremony, the young women dance bare-breasted for their king, and each carries a long reed, which they then deposit as they approach the king.
1 NIGHT, 2 DAYS
Day 1: HLUHLUWE IMFOLOZI
Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve set in the heart of Zululand where Africa’s Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros) roam the flourishing savannah. Established in 1895 this is the oldest park in South Africa and is 98 000 hectares.
Day 2: KWA-NONGOMA – Reed Dance Festival

2 NIGHTS, 3 DAYS
Day 1: ST LUCIA & EMDONENI WILD CAT REHABILITATION CENTRE
The tour will start with a Boat ride in the iSimangaliso (Greater St Lucia) Wetlands Park. You will enjoy a 2-hour Guided Boat tour of the estuary where you will be taken close to crocodiles, hippopotamus and the beautiful Fish Eagle. We then proceed to the Emdoneni Wild Cat Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Centre where you will learn more about South Africa’s endangered wild cat species (Caracal, Serval, Cheetah and African Wildcat). Informative talk about the animals by an experienced guide. Overnight at a private lodge
Day 2: HLUHLUWE IMFOLOZI
Next morning we will travel to Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve where Africa’s BIG FIVE (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros) roam the flourishing savannah. Established in 1895, this is the oldest game park in South Africa. You will enjoy unlimited game drives with our vehicle and an evening open safari game drive with the authorities.
